Cable was of good quality - and I am watching streaming video now. I bought this cable for hooking up my new Sony Blu-Ray player to the internet. I needed to run a line from my first floor to my basement where I have the Blu-Ray and did not think wireless would work well for streaming video.
So I went with the Belkin cable. Belkin is a name that I've come to trust over the years. And I have had no problems. It wasn't the cheapest one that Amazon had, but I trust the name. When I went looking for 100 feet of Cat 5 to run all the way through the house, through the walls and floors, I knew I did not want to get a cable which would be less than trustworthy. who wants to pull all that out to find a problem.
This is more meant to be a stationary solution for when you need a nice long cable. If you are looking for a more resilient cable that can withstand many unpluggings and repluggings and being stepped on and so on, this cable won't do for you at all. Go for it.
As a deal this product sale rated a 5, it was fabulously cheap for what it is. But it isn't as sturdy as better cables, it's a bit flimsy honestly. I understand a lot of people giving this a good review due to being a very good deal.
If you are not going to be moving the cable around a lot, if you are just going to plug it in and leave it, it will hold up great. I can't see it withstanding a lot of abuse though. As a PRODUCT, it's good.
Works fine.
I would recommend going with a different brand in hopes of getting a different manufacturer and more resilient construction. Granted high tech wiring is a little more touchy than say power cables but I had 100's of feet of CAT-5 survive a dozen moves during college and my roommates and I weren't exactly delicate during install and removal; or better termed "rip-out". This cable worked great and was a great bargain when I purchased it. However, I moved recently and the cable no longer worked when I installed it at my new residence.
There is no noticeable singal loss using a 100' cable. This product worked great. I need to connect a PC up to the router which was on a different level.
